Front brakes

New brakes discs which weren't stored/packed properly have gone away for a surface grind to take away some rust. Work continues in removing calipers and discs. Here we have the main crossmember removed.

Driveshafts

Good progress with the driveshafts. One bolt sheared for the damper halves, so new stainless ones on order along with outer dust covers. New gaskets made for triaxe joints, cleaned and painted ready for rebuild and fresh grease.

N/S driveshaft now built up ready for refitting, inner boot not secure yet as this has to come off again before the rest of the shaft goes through the wheel hub.

Driveshafts

Taking the driveshafts out was reasonably straight forward, on closer inspection the inner gaiters are starting to perish so new ones are on order along with some new screws for the hub. No play in the joints, good news at last.  Everything else just needs a clean and paint.

Front brakes

While the steering rack and radiator are still on the back seat I thought it would be a good idea to sort out the front brakes. The calipers appear to have a small weep of LHM around them and the discs are corroded quite badly. The discs will be replaced with some new old stock which need a grind to remove some surface rust. The calipers will be overhauled with new seals.
