Doors been chemically stripped to show the full extent of the corrosion, nice clean metal left to weld to.
Welcome to the restoration journey of my beloved 1973 Citroën DS23 Pallas. This classic car was manufactured with great care and precision at the Quai de Javel factory in Paris. A true masterpiece, it boasts a 5 speed manual transmission and carburettor engine. With its beautiful beige Tholonet exterior and caramel Jersey Velours rayé interior, this car is a true work of art. Join me as I bring this classic Citroën back to its former glory and share my restoration process with you all.
I have read with interest your blog. I am a long time fan of the Citroen DS, having driven one back in 73 in Canada - Citroens are no longer sold here but a few are available, restorable or not, usually from the States! What you have done is far beyond my mechanical ability, but I admire your dedication, particularly in view of the small garage you have to work in. Well done! I should say I am an expat from 1966, now living in New Brunswick, Canada.
ReplyDeleteThis car should be "reissued" with some modifications to simplify and make it more durable (not it's strongest point -maintenance was always needed more than average). But not a crap clone like the VW Beetle, the Mini, and the Fiat 500 which are but shadows of their former selves.
Once again - well done!
