Refitted the o/s driveshaft today after replacing the outer dust cover and inner gaiter along with 200g of new grease. The vibration damper has also been replaced with a new one and the half collars have been secured with new stainless screws. The hub screws have also been replaced with new stainless ones. The shaft is fitted through the hub minus the inner triax coupling this is fitted when the shaft is through the hub, this can be a bit trick as the boots have to be turned in as the is not enough clearance for joints and boots. The brake disc has just had a coat of primer and paint to stop it rusting.
Welcome to the restoration journey of my beloved 1973 Citroën DS23 Pallas. This classic car was manufactured with great care and precision at the Quai de Javel factory in Paris. A true masterpiece, it boasts a 5 speed manual transmission and carburettor engine. With its beautiful beige Tholonet exterior and caramel Jersey Velours rayé interior, this car is a true work of art. Join me as I bring this classic Citroën back to its former glory and share my restoration process with you all.
